The two and a​ half-year Post-RM Bachelor of Science in Midwifery ​​progr​​amme prepares nurses to provide safe, competent, culturally responsive and quality care at all levels of the health care system with focus on reproductive, maternal, new​​born and child health for the families and communities by integrating knowledge, skills and attitudes from humanistic, behavioural and natural sciences.

The programme provides Regis​t​ered Midwive​s and Registered Comprehensive Nurses with an opportunity to upgrade their diploma qua​​lification to​​ degree level.

Admissions have closed for ​2024 cycle. The last date for submission of applications was April 19​​.

Eligibility Criteria​​​

Following is the eligibility criteria applicable for 2024 admission cycle:​​​​​

Route A: EM/ECN to RM/RCN to Post-RM BScM

  • Form IV education; “O” level, with a “Credit” in English and Biology or Biological Sciences, a “Pass” in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics and a Division III minimum aggregate
  • Certificate of Registration issued by the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council

  • ​At least two years of working experience as RM or RCN

Route B: RM/RCN to Post-RM BScM

  • “A” Level with a “Principal Pass” in Biology or Biological Sciences
  • ​You must have a Certificate of Registration issued by the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council

  • ​Nurses with at least two years of working experience as Registered Midwives and Registered Comprehensive Nurses are encouraged to apply​​
