Evaluation Criteria

The Experiential Learning Fund Steering Committee assesses applications based on several key factors, including:

  • Applicant's Profile: Achievements, particularly non-academic, and previous relevant experiences.
  • Personal Statement & Motivation: Clarity of goals, applicant's motivation, and plans for reflection on the experience.
  • Quality of Event/Programme: Potential learning outcomes, design of the programme, and anticipated impact.
  • Cost vs. Budget: Reasonableness of budget, alignment with funding purpose, and value for money.
  • Financial Need: Applicant's financial situation and demonstrated need for support.
  • Past Funding Status: Previous funding utilisation and track record (if applicable).

The Committee may consider additional discretionary factors beyond these specified criteria when evaluating applications to ensure a comprehensive assessment of each applicant.

Post Evaluation Processes

  1. All applicants are informed about the outcome of their application.
  2. Successful applicants receive email confirmation detailing funding approval and associated conditions.
  3. If needed, successful applicants may be required to visit the Student Experience Office to discuss modalities and complete formalities.
  4. After fulfilling conditions and documentation, funds are transferred electronically to the student's bank account within 30 working days.

NOTE: Funds provided to students are generally considered advance payments. To ensure transparency and accountability, the process is entirely non-cash, meaning no physical cash is handled at any stage. To settle the advance payment, students are required to submit relevant documents, such as invoices or other supporting evidence, to validate the expenses incurred.
