Urogynaecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery
Urogynaecology, a sub-specialty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, deals with diagnosis and treatment of women who have pelvic floor disorders. The program has been accredited by the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) for the last two years. The fellowship curriculum has been developed according to the need of our population and by the end of the programme, fellows are expected to:
Know the basis of pelvic floor dysfunction including urinary and fecal incontinence
Show an improvement in the quality of care of women with pelvic floor disorders
Develop clinical competence to diagnose, evaluate common urinary, fecal and pelvic floor disorders
To perform surgery for Stress Urinary Incontinence, Utero-Vaginal Prolapse
To conduct and interpret Urodynamic Studies, EMG
Demonstrate knowledge, practice and community teaching of urinary/fecal incontinence, pelvic floor injuries and defects
Develop a close understanding and working relationship with other disciplines like colorectal surgeon, pelvic physiotherapist, urodynamicist, involved in field of urogynaecology.
