​Message from the Associate Dean, Research

Welcome to the Research Office of the Aga Khan University’s Medical College, Pakistan. At AKU, research lies at the core of our mission, to generate new knowledge, inform policy, and improve lives through innovation and discovery. As we advance toward our vision of becoming a research-led university, we are continuously strengthening systems that enable, support, and celebrate excellence in research.

Our goal is not only to conduct world-class science but to ensure that it creates real-world impact, improving health outcomes and influencing practice both nationally and globally. Guided by our IQRA philosophy; Innovation, Quality, Research, and Access, we are committed to fostering an environment where curiosity thrives, barriers are reduced, and collaboration across disciplines and geographies becomes the norm.

Our faculty’s research spans from basic and translational sciences to clinical trials and implementation research, reflecting both depth and diversity. We continue to invest in capacity building, ethical oversight, and research infrastructure to facilitate continuous improvement and empower our researchers to lead change.
