The CITRIC Health Data Science Centre at AKU organized a seminar and workshop on the "Burden of Cervical Cancer" in collaboration with the Centre for Woman and Child Health and Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at AKU and LUMHS, held at Civil Hospital, Hyderabad on July 8, 2023. The event aimed to address various aspects of cervical cancer, including prevention, early detection, and raising awareness. Healthcare professionals, researchers, and media personnel attended the seminar, gaining valuable insights and engaging in discussions with experts. Chief Guest Dr. Muhammad Arif Khan highlighted the high incidence of cervical cancer in 2023, emphasizing the urgency of action. The workshop, led by Dr. Aliya Aziz and Dr. Uzma Chishti, allowed participants to perform VIA and excisional methods on a model and encouraged group discussions. Dr. Arshad Chandio provided hope by sharing recent advancements toward reintroducing the HPV vaccine in Pakistan. The event left attendees inspired and determined to make a difference in the fight against cervical cancer, fostering a collaborative approach towards improving women's health in Pakistan.
