Ms Samina holds an M.Phil. in Public Health and actively participates in research project centered around Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) risk prediction and preventive strategies. She has contributed significantly to the development of a mental health curriculum for Lady Health Workers (LHWs) in Pakistan. Research Project: Developing cardiovascular disease prevention strategies to promote a healthy lifestyle among high-risk sedentary population in Pakistan. | Dr Sawera Hanif Instructor Research, IBA, Karachi Dr. Sawera, an MBBS from Baqai Medical University, practiced as a General Physician before earning a Masters in Preventative Cardiovascular Medicine from the University of South Wales. She has worked as a Preventive Cardiologist and as a Public and Global Health Researcher at the Institute for Global Health and Development at AKU. She recently joined the Fogarty Fellowship program.
| Ms Maira Mubashir Instructor Research, IBA, Karachi Maira Mubashir is a trained nutritionist and has been working at Aga Khan University since 2019. She comes with valuable experience in community settings—both urban and rural—as well as in public and private schools across Karachi. Her primary research interest is Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), with a particular focus on adolescent health. She is deeply concerned about the dual burden of malnutrition among adolescents and is dedicated to developing preventive strategies and practical solutions to address this critical issue.
