
Dr. Adil Haider Editor in Chief, CCBP
Dr Adil H. Haider is the former Dean of the Aga Khan University Medical College, having served from 2019 to 2025. He will now serve as the Director of the Centre for Clinical Best Practices, in addition to continuing as Professor of Surgery and Professor of Community Health Sciences at AKU. A distinguished alumnus, he was the first graduate of the University’s MBBS programme to be appointed Dean. He also holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where he trained as a trauma surgeon and later served on the faculty.
During his tenure as Dean, Dr Haider played a pivotal role in AKU’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He co-led the Academic Medical Centre and worked to establish public-private partnerships with the Government of Pakistan to strengthen healthcare delivery. His efforts included the expansion of telemedicine services and the development of online training programmes to support healthcare professionals across the country. | 
Dr. Mohsin Ali Mustafa Associate Director, CCBP
Dr Mohsin Ali Mustafa is a medical graduate of the Aga Khan University.After medical school he decided to pursue public health for the scale of impact this field allows. Following an initial stint in a public health institution which delivered emergency medical services to Karachi he ventured out to create systemic change. Entrepreneurship seemed like the most logical path for this. He co-founded FiveHealth through which the team delivered primary care services to school children via clinics in schools. This pioneering work enabled a partnership with the Harvard School of Public Health. Mohsin, is a visiting scientist at the Harvard School of Public Health, an MBA from Oxford University, an Acumen Fellow and an Asia Society Asia 21 Fellow In his spare time he loves to spend time in the outdoors, play sports, read and write about his observations on life.

Dr. Samar Fatima Associate Director, CCBP Dr. Samar Fatima is an assistant professor and internal medicine consultant at Aga Khan University Hospital, where she has worked since 2016. With FCPS and MRCP UK (London) qualifications, her career spans clinical practice, education, research, and administration. She has served as an associate program director and continues as a supervisor and examiner at CPSP. Actively involved in JCIA and as a Quality Improvement Representative, she has led various quality initiatives and protocol developments. Passionate about teaching, she is currently pursuing a Master's in Health Professional Education to further enhance her skills.

Dr. Nashia Ali Rizvi Manager, CCBP Dr. Nashia Rizvi is a committed public health professional passionate about equity, accessibility, and clinical excellence. A graduate of Sindh Medical College, her early volunteer work at a community hospital in Singapore fueled her interest in health systems, leading to a Master of Public Health from the National University of Singapore. At CCBP, she serves as a trained GRADE methodologist, playing a key role in developing and implementing evidence-based clinical practice guidelines. Dr. Rizvi brings a collaborative approach to capacity building and has been instrumental in making guidelines contextually relevant and accessible across diverse healthcare settings in Pakistan.

Dr. Areeba Sultan Senior Instructor, CCBP
Dr. Areeba Sultan is a pediatrician at Aga Khan University Hospital with a strong commitment to holistic, patient-centered care. She plays an active role in undergraduate medical education, mentoring students and contributing to academic curriculum development.
Her professional interests lie at the intersection of medicine, technology, and storytelling. She is particularly drawn to the potential of artificial intelligence to improve healthcare systems and public health, and to narrative medicine as a way to better understand and honor the lived experiences of patients and families. | .png)
Dr. Zara Nadeem Instructor, CCBP Dr. Zara Nadeem is a dedicated physician with a strong foundation in internal medicine, having completed her residency and now serving as instructor at the Aga Khan University. With a keen interest in academic growth and patient-centered care, she continuously strives to integrate evidence-based practice into clinical decision-making. Passionate about medical education and healthcare improvement, Dr. Nadeem is committed to contributing meaningfully to both patient outcomes and professional development within the field.
