Dr Michael Moneypenny is directing simulation developments in Nairobi, Dar Es Salaam and Kampala, working alongside Dr Faisal Ismail in creating 'ONE CIME' with the goal of improving healthcare education.

Picture8.jpg Mr Joash Kiptanui, Simulation Technical Specialist

Mr Joash holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Maasai Mara University and recently completed a Master of Science in Health Informatics from Moi University. He works as a Simulation Technical Specialist, managing the technical infrastructure and equipment at our centre in Nairobi, Kenya. He has a wealth of experience in the healthcare industry and is recognised for promoting healthcare simulation training programmes in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Ethiopia. He also received healthcare simulation training from Vanderbilt University in the United States.

Picture8.jpg Mr Kelvin Chege, Simulation Technical Analyst

Mr Chege holds a Bachelor's degree in computer science from Masinde Muliro University of science and technology. He is involved in coordinating simulation-based programmes, equipment management and maintenance, and provides technical support for educational activities .

He has over five years of experience working as an IT professional. He enjoys traveling and socializing with people.

Picture8.jpg Mr William Mwikya, Simulation Administration Analyst​

Mr Mwikya holds a Microbiology and Biotechnology degree from the University of Nairobi's School of Biological Sciences and a certification in Business Administration and Marketing from the Sales Edge Training Institute. He joined the CIME team in December 2022 and is responsible for the overall administration of CIME Nairobi. He brings over five years of experience in managing continuing medical education and medical skills training. He is also actively involved in the development, organization, and coordination of simulation programmes. He has a keen interest in medical education management, healthcare management, and innovation.​​​

Mr Rogers is a skilled nurse anaesthetist with a wealth of experience in the field of simulation education. ​With a strong foundation in nursing and a bachelor’s degree in the same discipline, he has dedicated himself to honing his expertise in nursing and simulation education. With over 5 years of hands-on experience in the realm of simulation education, he is a mentor and educator in his field. His practical experience in simulation helps to recreate real-life medical scenarios in a simulated environment, providing invaluable training opportunities for medical and nursing professionals and aspiring healthcare professionals.

Picture8.jpg Mr Newton Ochoki, Simulation Education Associate

Mr Mr. Newton possesses a Bachelor's and Master's degree in nursing, both obtained from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). With a specialization in critical care, he brings over 6 years of experience working in the Intensive Care Unit. Previously affiliated with Avenue Group, he served in diverse roles, including that of risk control and infection prevention coordinator. Mr. Newton is deeply committed to promoting quality and safe clinical practices. Currently serving as the simulation education associate for CIME, he actively incorporates theoretical knowledge into clinical skills. Moreover, he is involved in instructing and designing various simulation courses, ensuring a strong integration with simulation research.

Picture9.jpgMr Ghulam Nabi, Simulation Administration Advisor

Mr. Nabi leads the Admin team, overseeing operational and financial management, business development, and media, marketing & communication. He is also responsible for formulating strategies to spread awareness about CIME in both South​ Asia and East Africa, as well as for developing simulation-based courses that have a significant i​mpact on society. He holds a Diploma in Strategic Marketing from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), a Master's degree from the Institute of Business Management (IoBM), and a Diploma in Visual Media from the Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture (IVS). He has been associated with AKU since 2012, serving in various roles and departments.​​​


Mr Zeeshan Arif, Simulation Administration Analyst

Mr Zeeshan holds a Master's degree in Administrative Science from Karachi University and is currently pursuing a Master's in Business Administration with a focus on Hospital and Health Care Management at The Institute of Business And Health Management. He is responsible for the operational management of the centre. He possesses expertise in MS Excel and Power BI, as well as data dashboard creation. In addition to these duties, his responsibilities include budgeting and costing, report writing, and data management. He has a keen interest in data science. His goal is to become a leading expert in the field and use his expertise to improve healthcare education delivery and outcomes.​

Ms Isna is a Coordinator at CIME with over six years of experience at AKU. She excels in administration and operations, and is recognised for her attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities. 

With a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Karachi, she brings a strong academic background to her role. In her leisure time, she enjoys traveling and exploring new destinations.

Picture4.jpg Mr Rehman Baloch, Senior Administration Assistant

Mr Rehman oversees the CIME's venue and equipment booking system and provides administrative support to our Simulation Labs. He has over five years of professional experience. Before joining the CIME team, he worked as a volunteer in the Human Resource department where he honed his skills in office operations and event management. 

In​ his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching ​movies and hanging out with his friends.

​Mr Aashir provides administrative support for our educational programmes, workshops and courses. He is currently pursuing a bachelor degree in Commerce from the University of Karachi. He joined the centre in Novemb​er 2019. 

Before joining the CIME team, he worked as an Administrative Assistant for UEC (Pvt) Ltd. ​

​Mr Rohit provides administrative support in our educational programmes. He contributes to the success of our in-house media team by supporting in executing various media, marketing, and communication projects. With a Bachelor's degree in Arts from the University of Sindh and a Diploma in Photography from the Talha Ghouri Photography School, Mr. Rohit has honed his skills in the field of visual media, and has a strong passion for photography and videography.

Picture4.jpg Mr Sajid Mithani, Project Coordinator - Media Production Space​

​Mr ​Sajid is a key member of our in-house media production team. He is a skilled and experienced media professional, with a passion for creating impactful and effective communication materials. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from the University of Karachi. Sajid is responsible for producing videos and communications materials to promote healthcare simulation and our educational programmes both in Pakistan and East Africa.​

​​Dr Selina holds an MBBS degree from Dow University of Health Sciences and a Master of Health Professions Education from Maastricht University, joined CIME in 2022 as an Education Advisor. 

She has a passion to create health equity using health and education innovation. She brings her experience in clinical medicine and leadership to drive patient safety by promoting simulation based medical trainings.

Dr Durrani graduated with an MBBS degree from Bahria University Health Sciences in 2021. She completed her internship at AKUH in 2022 and joined the team at CIME, driven by her interests in education and innovation. As a member of the Education Team, she is involved in developing curricula and evaluating simulation programmes for healthcare professionals from diverse academic backgrounds. Her passion for and expertise in the field of surgery, and her dedication to innovation, make her a valuable asset to our team. In addition to her work in medical education, she is dedicated to creating impactful research initiatives that will shape future educational practices and promote innovation.

Ms Iqra graduated from the AKU BScN programme in 2017. Her professional interests lie in undergraduate and postgraduate nursing education. ​

She is currently working with the Education Team to develop curricula for and evaluate simulation–based programmes that cater to the needs healthcare professionals from various academic backgrounds. ​

Dr Ayesha graduated from Dow Medical College in 2020. Since then, she has been teaching healthcare students in various settings. Currently, as a part of the education team at CIME, she plays a pivotal role in the smooth execution of day-to-day workshops while providing valuable educational insights. She actively engages in research with the aim of enhancing healthcare education and optimizing outcomes for both patients and healthcare providers. She aspires to become an educationist, focusing on improving the quality of education for healthcare workers across different fields.​



Mr Saleem Pirani, Simulation Technology Manager

As the Technology Manager at CIME, Saleem leads a team of engineers responsible for implementing and supporting state-of-the-art simulation, medical, and IT equipment. Saleem has an exceptional educational background, holding both an honors degree in electronics technology and a postgraduate IT dipl​oma. Additionally, he has completed over 25 training courses offered by respected industry leaders such as Laerdal, Surgical Sciences, GE, Philips, Siemens, CAE, and others. His role extends beyond managing technology; he is deeply passionate about promoting innovation in healthcare simulation. He actively collaborates with faculty members to offer guidance and support for innovative projects. What sets Saleem apart is his ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions that bring visionary ideas to life.​​​​ 

Picture13.jpg Mr Ghansham Mehraj, Simulation Technical Specialist​

Mr Ghansham holds a Master's degree in Information Systems from the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences, and Technology. He has 16 years of core information technology experience and has worked on a number of high-profile projects. His primary responsibilities are to design, develop, implement, and maintain clinical simulation and equipment used for medical training and education, including organizing and coordinating simulation-based programmes and offering technical support for educational activities. He is a critical thinker and has a keen interest in VR based learning and exploring new technologies in the healthcare industry​.​​​

Mr Saad is a Mechatronics Engineering graduate of the Pakistan Airforce Karachi Institute of Economics and Technology (PAF-KIET) and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Business Administration from the Institute of Business Management (IoBM). He received an Advanced Technical Training from Gaumard Scientific in troubleshooting and safe maintenance of the advanced fidelity line of Simulators. He previously worked as an Information Technology Engineer in the Aviation industry before joining the CIME technical team. His keen interest in robotics engineering makes him an invaluable asset to our team, as he continuously explores new ways to improve and innovate in the field.​


Mr Abdul Ameen, Simulation Technical Analyst

Mr Ameen holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Dadabhoy Institute of Higher Education (DIHE). He plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth running of our simulation programmes. He is responsible for the maintenance of simulators and medical equipment, ensuring that our learners have access to the latest technology and resources. With his background in computer science and strong technical abilities, he is a valuable asset to our team.


Mr Ghalib Ali, Simulation Technical Analyst

Mr. Ghalib, an accomplished biomedical engineering graduate from NED University of Engineering and Technology, stands out as a dynamic professional. Serving as the technical analyst at CIME, he adeptly elevates simulator training activities for faculty and other users. His responsibilities extend to overseeing the optimal performance of all simulator technologies housed at CIME and ensure their seamless operations. Beyond that, He's a driving force for innovation, injecting fresh ideas and cutting-edge technologies into CIME's vibrant ecosystem.


Mr Hasnain, Simulation Technical Analyst

​Mr. Hasnain, holding a Master's in Mechatronics Engineering and a Bachelor's in Biomedical Engineering from NED University, brings a wealth of expertise from his role as a former Biomedical Engineer in healthcare. As a key contributor to the Centre for Innovation in Medical Education, he oversees the maintenance of simulators, medical, and IT equipment, ensuring learners have unmatched access to technology. His passion for healthcare technology and innovation positions him as a crucial team member, driven by the ambitious goal of becoming a leader in the Simulation Industry.
