Master of Early Child Development

The newly launched, Master of Early Child Development (MECD) programme is offered by AKU's Human Development Programme (HDP). The programme aims to promote human development through a multidisciplinary, integrated approach combining education, service, and research. It builds an advanced knowledge base to strengthen human resource capacity and drive greater investment in Early Child Development (ECD).

The programme is recognised by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.

Admissions are open for 2025-2026 cycle. The last date for submission of applications is September 30, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

Sixteen (16) years of education, or four (4) years after HSSC/FA/FSc/Grade 12 (or equivalent) from an accredited / recognized university including but not limited to fields such as health, psychology, sociology, social work, education, or nutrition and other social sciences discipline.

Preference will be given to candidates who have at least one year of full-time work experience in an ECD-related field or the social sector after graduation (voluntary work, part-time roles, or unpaid internships are not included).
