The newly launched, Master of Early Child Development (MECD) programme is offered by AKU's Human Development Programme (HDP). The programme aims to promote human development through a multidisciplinary, integrated approach combining education, service, and research. It builds an advanced knowledge base to strengthen human resource capacity and drive greater investment in Early Child Development (ECD).
The programme is recognised by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet these criteria at the time of application.
- Sixteen (16) years of education, or four (4) years after HSSC/FA/FSc/Grade 12 (or equivalent) from an accredited / recognized university including but not limited to fields such as health, psychology, sociology, social work, education, or nutrition and other social sciences discipline.
Scholarships
Two scholarships are available for candidates selected in the 2027–2028 admission cycle. These scholarships will specifically be offered to Syrian students, resident in Syria and will cover full cost of education for the two-year programme.
