The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) programme equips students with knowledge, skills and attitude needed to practice nursing. It is designed to prepare clinically competent professional nurses. Upon completion of the programme, nurses are able to utilize critical thinking in providing holistic nursing care and play a role as change agents in nursing practice and education in any health care setting.
This is a four-year academic programme with a mandatory one-year internship. At the conclusion of five years, students are required to apply for the PNC licensure examination. Successful completion of the exam will make the students eligible to receive the license of Registered Nurse.
Admissions are currently open for 2018-2019 cycle. The last date to submit the application is May 28, 2018. Candidates are required to apply online. In line with Pakistan Nursing Council’s (PNC) ruling, candidates may apply if their age is ≥ (greater or equal to) 17 and ≤ (less than or equal to) 25 on January 1, 2019. Marital status is not a consideration.
Applicants who have completed their Higher Secondary School Certificate [HSSC] education more than 5 years before this application should be able to demonstrate capability of managing university studies through evidence of recent formal studies of some type.
Academic Eligibility: Candidates applying to the BScN programmes should have completed Higher Secondary School (HSSC) in the Pre-Medical group with a minimum of 50% or equivalent from other systems of education* and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) / O-Level in the Science group with Biology.
These requirements are applicable to candidates who have completed their HSSC in the British*, American*, Canadian* or any other system of Education in Pakistan and overseas*.
Candidates who have completed two years in college, or have an undergraduate or graduate degree are also required to have achieved a minimum aggregate of 50% or equivalent in their HSSC in the Pre-Medical group.
*Applicants are notified that applications will not be processed for final selection without required equivalence certificates.
All candidates, local and foreign, who have certificates of education other than Pakistan Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC), are required to submit an equivalence certificate of their HSSC from the Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC).
