Introduction
Yaqub Wasan is an Assistant Professor (Research) at Aga Khan University (AKU) in Pakistan, with over 18 years of experience at the institution. He holds an MPH and an MSc in Anthropology and is currently pursuing a PhD in Sociology.
He has published more than 20 research papers in high-impact journals. His work focuses on maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health, with a particular interest in exploring low-cost nutrition and life skills and behavior change interventions to improve health and empowerment outcomes in low-resource settings. His expertise encompasses the development of research protocols, the design of interventions, the development of behavior change communication (BCC) materials, and the creation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and manuals. He is also experienced in training staff and primary care workers. Additionally, he has extensive experience collaborating and coordinating with government agencies, international donors, academic institutes and other stakeholders.
