In line with the University’s mission, the Department of Anaesthesiology has focused its efforts on providing the best quality anaesthesia services and care. The Department’s Research Cell is an overarching body of six research sub-groups including:
- Grant management and monitoring
- Residents’ research support
- Research education
- Quality of research
The research cell facilitates a broad range of clinical and basic science research and plays an important role in enhancing research education. It comprises of a diverse team of individuals and specialists who collectively work to achieve high standards of departmental research. Departmental mentors are also committed to help residents, fellows, and early career faculty in identifying and pursuing research projects which impact larger populations.
Each year the Department publishes several articles, randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, case series, case reports and book chapters in National and International journals and books. To encourage research, the department allocates grants and extra research time for researchers. It is also involved in a number of ongoing intramural and extramural grant-funded research projects and collaborator in a few international multicenter projects.
