AKU Sports Society

Developed for the pursuit of athletic excellence, the Sports Society is a student-led body with representation from the Medical College (MC), School of Nursing and Midwifery (SONAM) and Institute of Educational Development (IED). Aimed at enabling students to polish and develop their leadership skills through organizing small and large-scale sports tournaments, the Sports Society has organized numerous inter and intra AKU events, with the Sports Olympiad being the largest one.

Office of the Dean of Students

The Office of the Dean of Students (ODOS) was set up in 2017 to support students’ professional and personal development, and administers the Student Experience, Student Development and Counselling, and Student Health factions at AKU. These include programs for student wellness, student mentorship, student advocacy and leadership; Code of Conduct; and liaisons with parents. Working closely with faculty, staff and leadership across all entities at AKU (the Medical College, the School of Nursing and Midwifery, and the Institute of Educational Development), ODOS unites them to foster student engagement and prepare them to graduate as innovative, collaborative and compassionate leaders in their fields.

They are responsible for the maintenance and management of the swimming pool, gymnasium, aerobics room, weight-training room, tennis court, outdoor volleyball court, squash courts, cricket and football field, and the jogging track.
