Cell and Gene Therapy: Research and Applications
Get introduced to stem cells, genome editing, and nanotechnology systems
Pre-Conference Workshop
Cell and Gene Therapies (CGTs) is the future of biomedical revolution. These focus on using living cells or genetic material to treat, prevent or even cure disease. The concept of cell therapy dates back to 1889, when Charles-Édouard Brown-Séquard used animal extracts to combat aging. The modern advances in genetics and bioengineering have allowed the field to rapidly mature. Specifically, the ability to make targeted genetic modifications (gene therapy) and use specialized cell carriers (cell therapy) has opened opportunities with potential to treat a wide range of disorders.
This is an intensive two-day workshop that aims to move beyond theory. It will focus on the practical application of the three important components driving this field: harnessing the regenerative power of stem cells, leveraging the precision of genomic editing such as CRISPR/Cas9 and optimizing nano-tech delivery systems including viral and non-viral vectors.
Apply today for this workshop and benefit from this exciting opportunity.
