​Daniel ​​​​Raynor, ​Director

Daniel is Director of the Network of English Language Enhancement (ELE_net), leading the University’s strategy for English language development across academic, professional, and research contexts.

​He oversees the design and delivery of English language provision for students, staff, and faculty across AKU’s global campuses, including credit-bearing courses, short courses, and institution-wide services. He also leads the development of online programmes through the LEADS platform, extending access to external audiences and international projects. Daniel works closely with academic and administrative leadership to implement the University’s Language Policy, strengthen English-medium instruction, and enhance student success and graduate outcomes.​​​


​Fouzia Qalander Shah, Coordinator

Fouzia has been a part of ELE_net since June 2017, where she plays a key role in ensuring the effective functioning of operations. In her current position, she provides high-level managerial support to the Director while overseeing the smooth day-to-day running of ELE_net activities. She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing from KASBIT University, which has strengthened her academic and professional expertise. With seven years of experience across diverse office environments, Fouzia brings a well-rounded skill set to her work. 

She also has a keen interest in emerging information and communication technologies, reflecting her commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.​​


Rahedeen Shamsher Ali, Senior Instructor​ (ELT)

Rahedeen Ali joined ELE_Net as a Teaching Specialist and is currently involved in designing and teaching courses related to English for Academic and Professional Purposes. ​Before joining AKU, she w​as heading the writing centre at Habib University and was involved in overseeing and implementing academic writing instruction at the University as well as designing and delivering courses, lectures, and workshops for academic reading, writing, and research. ​​

Her experience also extends to editing and proofreading academic articles/manuscripts, PhD theses, and literary articles. Rahedeen has a Master of Arts in Industrial Psychology and is currently pursuing a TEFL certification from the University of Toronto.​​​​


Prisila Mlingi, Senior Instructor (ELT)

Prisila joined ELE_net as a Teaching Associate in 2022 and is currently involved in designing, delivering and assessing English for Academic Purpose (EAP) online and face-to-face courses. 

Prisila gained her Master of Education (English Language) from Aga Khan University, Institute of Educational Development, East Africa and completed a Bachelor of Education degree (English and Literature) from Kenyatta University, Nairobi, Kenya. She is pursuing a Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (DELTA). Her professional interests include TESOL, English for Academic Purposes and Corpus Linguistics.​​​


Gloria Magege, Instructor (ELT)

Pic1.jpgGloria joined ELE_net as a Teaching Associate in 2023 and is currently involved in designing and teaching English courses that the network offers. Gloria is CELTA-certified with a Master of Education degree from The University of the People, an online American institution. She obtained a BA in Anthropology from Grinnell College, Iowa, USA.​​ 

​Her professional interests include Curriculum Design, English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and English for Academic Purposes (EAP).



Humera Khursheed, Instructor (ELT)

AKU_8712.jpgHumera has been with ELE_net since September 2025. She is currently involved in designing and teaching courses related to English for Academic Purposes (EAP). With more than ten years of teaching experience, she has worked with ESL and EFL learners both online and face-to-face.

Humera holds a CELTA Certificate and a Bachelor of Architecture degree. She is currently in the process of acquiring a TEAP qualification from the University of Glasgow. Her professional interests include linguistics and philology.​​
