Daniel Raynor, Director
Daniel is the Director of the Network of English Language Enhancement, supporting the English language needs of students, staff and faculty at AKU. He plays a central role in setting strategy and overall direction for English language instruction at the University, working collaboratively with and supporting other leaders to achieve the University's goals.
Prior to joining AKU, he worked for the British Council variously as a teacher, online course materials developer, website manager and online facilitator in Spain, Hong Kong and the UK. Daniel has a Master of Science in Information Technology in Education and a Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults.
Fouzia Qalander Shah, Coordinator

Fouzia joined ELE_net in June 2017. In her current role, she provides high-level managerial support to the Director and is responsible for the smooth running of ELE_net operations.
Fouzia is currently doing her Master in Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing from KASBIT University. She has a strong interest in learning about new information and communication technologies. She has seven years of experience working in diverse office environments.
Mariam Farooq, Specialist (ELT)

Mariam joined ELE_net at its initial stage of formation in November 2014. In her current role, she is involved in designing and teaching English courses that the network offers.
Mariam gained her Master of Education degree from the Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED), obtained a Bachelor in Commerce from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa and completed ICELT from Cambridge University, UK.
She teaches courses related to English for Academic and Professional Purposes, and her areas of interest include Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and formative assessment. Mariam also has a strong interest in collaboration and innovation in education.
Saniya Qutaibah, Teaching Associate (ELT)

Saniya joined ELE_net in January 2020. Since then, she has been working on designing, delivering, and assessing a variety of courses offered by our department to students and staff.
Saniya is a CELTA-qualified teacher with an MA. in English Language and Linguistics from the University of Westminster, United Kingdom. She obtained a B.A. in Accounting and Finance from UCSI University, Malaysia.
Saniya's professional interests include English for Specific Purposes (ESP), Language education and Sociolinguistics.
Prisila Mlingi, Teaching Associate (ELT)

Prisila joined ELE_net as a Teaching Associate in 2022 and is currently involved in designing, delivering and assessing English for Academic Purpose (EAP) online and face-to-face courses.
Prisila gained her Master of Education (English Language) from Aga Khan University, Institute of Educational Development, East Africa and completed a Bachelor of Education degree (English and Literature) from Kenyatta University, Nairobi, Kenya.
She is pursuing a Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (DELTA). Her professional interests include TESOL, English for Academic Purposes and Corpus Linguistics.
