Dr Evans Kituyi
Director 

Dr Kituyi is an international development practitioner with over 18 years of experience in programme development, project management and grants administration across Africa and South Asia. He holds a PhD in Atmospheric Chemistry from the University of Nairobi/Max Planck Institut fur Chemie, Germany and a Master of Business Administration from Africa Nazarene University in 2013. Dr Kituyi has served as Senior Lecturer and Head of the Environmental Chemistry Department at the University of Nairobi, where he contributed to teaching, research, graduate student supervision and community service. He has also led programmes on climate change, energy and water policy at the African Centre for Technology Studies. 

From 2009 to 2019, Dr Kituyi worked with Canada’s International Development Research Centre as a Senior Programme Specialist for Agriculture and Environment, where he led project portfolios focusing on climate change adaptation in semi-arid economies, bringing together leading think tanks and universities across Africa, Asia and the UK.​


Caleb Orwa
Data Analyst

Caleb is a data analyst at the East Africa Institute. He holds an MSc in Computer Based Information Systems from Strathmore University, Nairobi, and a BSc. Forestry and Natural Resources Management from Moi University, Eldoret.  He spends his time in data analytics, backend database management and front-end development of dynamic and interactive web interfaces.

 Mercy Karumba
 Programmes Officer​

Mercy is a Programmes Officer at the East Africa Institute. She holds a Bachelor in Economics from Kenyatta University and is currently pursuing an MBA in Project Management. In her current capacity, she identifies potential grants, assists in budget preparation and expense management for ongoing programmes; plans and executes program activities, conducts development research, and maintains internal and external communication with partners.
