The newly launched Bachelor of Nursing Science – Direct Entry program is designed to equip nurses with the essential skills required to function in today’s healthcare environment. The curriculum emphasizes patient-centered care, critical thinking, teamwork and interprofessional collaboration, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and the effective use of informatics and technology to enhance care delivery. The program also leverages emerging innovations in electronic health records, telemedicine, and data science.
Graduates will be prepared to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to diverse populations across the lifespan. They will be trained to work in multidisciplinary environment and serve as vital links between patients (individuals, families, communities, or populations) and the broader healthcare system in a variety of settings.

Eligibility Criteria
For the 2025 admissions cycle, eligible candidates must satisfy the criteria below.
Minimum requirements
Minimum requirements applicable to candidates admitted directly out of secondary school with Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent, and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or its equivalent, are: a principal ‘pass’ in Biology, and another principal ‘pass’ in either Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics.

- Oral interview (general knowledge about the nursing profession)
Note: Apart from those with A-Level and O-Level qualifications from Uganda, all other applicants are required to have their academic credentials equated by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB).
