The Bachelor of Nursing Science – Direct Entry program is designed to equip nurses with the essential skills required to function in today’s healthcare environment. The curriculum emphasizes patient-centered care, critical thinking, teamwork and interprofessional collaboration, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and the effective use of informatics and technology to enhance c​​are delivery. The program also leverages emerging inno​vations in electronic health records, telemedicine, and data science.​

Graduates will be prepared to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to diverse populations across the lifespan. They will be trained to work in multidisciplinary environment and serve as vital links between patients (individuals, families, communities, or populations) and the broader healthcare system in a variety of settings.

Eligibility Criteria​

For the 2026 admissions cycle, eligible candidates must satisfy the criteria below.

Minimum university entrance requirements

Candidates admitted directly out of secondary school with Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or its equivalent with a principal pass in Biology and another principal pass in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or Food & Nutrition.  And those with Higher Education Certificate (HEC) in biological sciences.   

International students will be required to have their documents (O-Level and A-Level results) equated by Ugandan National Examinations Board (UNEB) available on the link below. In addition, it will be mandatory for students to complete a one-year internship in Uganda, upon graduation. ​
