The Diploma in Oncology Nursing programme is an 18-month work-study programme aimed at educating nurses to function as specialized oncology nurses who can advance cancer care across the illness trajectory and at all levels of care by providing safe, competent, compassionate and quality cancer care.
The programme is based on the Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology (CANO) standards and competencies for the specialist oncology nurse adapted to contextual relevance. Students will take responsibility for their education and develop critical thinking and reasoning in the process of learning. A range of formative and summative assessment methods will be used to facilitate and assess the achievement of the programme outcomes.
Admissions are open for 2019 admission cycle. The last date for submission of applications is March 29, 2019.

Form IV level of education with a minimum aggregate score of C (plain) in KCSE; KCE Division II.
A minimum of a C (plain) grade in the following mandatory subjects: English and Biology/Biological Sciences.
A “Pass” grade in any one of the following subjects: Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics or Physical Sciences.
At least two years continuous experience in a clinical care setting as a Registered Nurse.
Must be a Registered Nurse (KRN or KRCHN) with a current registration from NCK and a valid practicing license.
Must have a minimum of two (2) years of practice experience.
