Amin Mawji, OBE


Mr Mawji is a former Partner at Ernst & Young (EY), where he held a number of senior leadership positions.

Mr Mawji graduated in Economics from the London School of Economics and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Over the past 30 years, he has advised on several international projects, mergers and acquisitions.

Upon retirement from professional practice, he was appointed by the UK Government to the UK Trade & Industry Board and the Board of UK Export Finance. He has previously served on the Boards of Sightsavers International, the Social Enterprise Loan Fund and as Chairman of the Royal Commonwealth Society for the Blind Pension Funds. Mr Mawji has also served on several Audit and Risk Committees and advised on governance issues in both the public and private sectors. He was appointed an OBE by Her Majesty the Queen in 2012.​

Mr Mawji c​urrently serves as the Diplomatic Representative of the Aga Khan Development Network in Uganda, and leads the network's liaison with the East African Community. He previously served as President of the Aga Khan Council for the UK. Mr Mawji was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Aga Khan University in April 2021.
