Dr Kulsoom Ghias​​

Dr Kulsoom Ghias is the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the Aga Khan​ University (AKU). A distinguished cancer biologist, educator, and academic leader, she brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective shaped by a liberal arts education from the University of Virginia, a PhD and postdoctoral fellowship at Northwestern University's Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center, and an Advanced Diploma in Health Professions Education from AKU. Throughout her career, she has championed learner-centred education, research excellence, and innovation in teaching and learning, while fostering collaborative partnerships and strengthening institutional research capacity.

Known for her commitment to academic excellence, transparency, mentorship, and inclusive leadership, Dr Ghias has led several transformative academic initiatives that encourage curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.
