Samuel Hall East Africa and the Aga Khan University (International) in the United Kingdom (AKU-UK) have formalised their commitment to collaborative endeavours with the signing of a 2-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in November 2023.
Led by the AKU Governance Programme and Co-Coordinator Dr. Sanaa Alimia (pictured), this MoU establishes a framework for collaboration between AKU-UK and Samuel Hall East Africa, a socially driven enterprise specialising in research, program evaluation, and policy design in migration and displacement contexts.
The primary objective of this MoU is to foster academic and cultural exchange between the two institutions, particularly in the realms of higher education, research, and public outreach. The agreement outlines shared interests, cooperation, and the pursuit of joint initiatives.
Key areas of collaboration include education, research, events and outreach, and training. Notable provisions include an annual internship program offered by Samuel Hall to AKU-UK alumni and graduates, joint contributions to research methods lectures, collaborative research activities, public outreach events, and a shared commitment to training programs. We hope to provide updates on these initiatives soon.
