The award is presented annually to individuals or healthcare institutions for their outstanding contributions and commitment to the healthcare simulation international standards of best practice, capacity-building, and innovation.
With Zohra Kurji spearheading the mission, the team of clinical simulation faculty members at AKU-SONAM recently initiated a virtual simulation for the Palliative Care clinical course for undergraduate nursing students. “This brought about a significant advancement in the academic environment and learning outcomes for the students, as previously clinical placements were only being done in-person,” wrote Kathryn Whitcomb, Chair of the INACSL Awards Committee.
"We are honored to have received this prestigious recognition. The hard work, passion, and persistence of the University leadership and faculty members to advance clinical simulation practice in Pakistan is highly commendable and resulting in valuable outcomes for faculty and students both," remarked Dr Rubina Barolia, Assistant Dean, Clinical Practice at AKU-SONAM.
The award recognizes the School’s commitment to advancing simulation learning, and Zohra Kurji’s contribution to faculty development in clinical simulation. It will be presented to the team at INACSL’s Annual Conference 2022 to be held in Wisconsin, USA, in June 2022.
