ISMC’s Publications Manager, Charlotte Whiting, was selected as one of twenty fellows from some 200 applications from 34 countries for the Istanbul Tanpınar Literature Festival Professional Meetings Fellowship Programme this year.
The Istanbul Tanpınar Literature Festival holds international events for professionals in its Fellowship Programme to encourage collaboration among authors, publishers, editors and translators from both Turkey and abroad. Since its first launch in 2011, ITEF has hosted

“It was a great opportunity to learn about the Turkish publishing market,” said Charlotte Whiting. “We also had the chance to meet several prominent Turkish authors and ask about their career and visit publishing houses. I was able to make some contacts who I hope the ISMC will be able to work with in the future.
“At the same time we learned about the Turkish literature market from the inside out and the works which are available for translation from Turkish into foreign languages.”
This year, ITEF’s seventh professional publishing fellows programme gave its 20 participants a programme of presentations about the Turkish publishing industry, networking events and meetings over the course of three days.
