With the increasing emphasis on patient care and safety, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University has planned to develop a comprehensive 6-month capacity building course for hospital managers and healthcare providers. Recognizing the significance of this initiative, the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination (M/o NHSR&C) joined hands with WHO Pakistan to organize a 2-day consultative meeting for national patient safety curriculum from 13th to 14th July 2023 in Islamabad. The primary purpose of this session was to gather feedback on the curriculum from esteemed patient safety experts.

Distinguished individuals attended the event, including Dr. Palitha Mahipala, the Head of WHO Pakistan, and Dr. Baseer Achakzai, the Director of General Health at MoNHSR&C. Alongside them, prominent figures from various medical institutes across Pakistan were in attendance. Notably, our very own  Dr. Fozia Asif, a valuable member and Associate Director of CPS, was invited to actively participate and share her insights on the importance of enhancing the capacity of healthcare workers in patient safety.

This remarkable event stands as a guiding light for healthcare workers and managers, empowering them to provide exemplary patient care while ensuring the highest standards of safety.

By fostering collaboration and harnessing the expertise of key stakeholders, this initiative reflects a shared commitment to elevating patient care standards across the nation.
