Introduction

Abbas Husain is Visiting Faculty with a deep interest in Quranic Studies, Comparative Spirituality and education. He is director of Teacher's Development Centre where he trains primary and secondary teachers of urban centres of Pakistan in innovative interactive methods of teaching. He is Chair of the Outreach Council of SPELT [2024-2026].

Master’s Degree in English Literature from University of Karachi 1977
M.Ed. TESOL from University of Manchester, 1986

Training in cooperative Learning at the University of Toronto 1996 for AKUIED
International Visitors's Leadership Programme IVLP  Study of US Institutions (SUSI) 1998

Awards and honours

On January 13,2024 he received EDUCATION LEGEND AWARD by Federation of Private Schools Pakistan presented by Caretaker Minister of Education and Literacy of Sindh Mrs. Rana Hussain’ Development Conference of Millennium Institute of Professional Development Islamabad on February 20, 2020.
LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD by Mohsin-e-Pakistan the late Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan at the Teachers On March 12, 2022, he was awarded the EDUCATION ICON award by Mohammad Azfar Ahsan, Minister of State, Government of Pakistan at the 3rd National Education Summit hosted by Pakistan Academic Consortium, Karachi.
