
1st International Collaborative Mycology Conference

The Aga Khan University, in collaboration with the Global Action Fund for Fungal Infection, GAFFI, and the Medical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases Society of Pakistan, MMIDSP, is holding its 1st International Collaborative Mycology Conference at the University in Karachi, Pakistan.
Objectives
To improve knowledge and skills of health professionals about fungal infections
To highlight the fungal diseases of public health importance
To increase awareness of optimal use of fungal diagnostics
To provide a platform for developing inter-sectoral links for reducing fungal disease burden in Pakistan
Highlights
Multidisciplinary discussions on: burden and trends of fungal diseases, diagnostic algorithms, fungal diagnostics, laboratory strengthening and outbreak management, economic impact of fungal infections in animal and food sector, will be held during conference.
Sessions on: common fungal infections in Pakistan; invasive candidiasis; aspergillosis; mucormycosis; cryptococcosis; mycetoma and chromoblastomycosis; and other difficult to treat fungal infections, will also be part of the conference.
