Send us your expression of interest and be part of a discussion on shaping the future of nursing and midwifery.
The winner will be awarded. All participants will receive certificates.
Interested candidates must choose any ONE topic from the options below, and one perspective within that topic. They must give a 2-minute talk on this perspective and defend it against an opponent on the day of the main conference.
Topic 1: Economic Empowerment of Nurses and Midwives
Perspective # 1: Healthcare institutions should provide competitive salaries, benefits, career advancement opportunities and positive environment to nurses and midwives for retention and job satisfaction, even if it requires reallocating resources from other areas.
Perspective # 2: Healthcare institutions should prioritize financial efficiency and sustainability over nurses and midwives’ salaries and well-being in this time of high inflation and economic uncertainty.
Topic 2: National Investments on Nursing vs Brain Drain
Perspective # 1: Pakistan should continue investing in nursing and midwifery education despite the likelihood of graduates migrating abroad for better opportunities, potentially causing domestic shortages
Perspective # 2: Pakistan should implement measures to retain nursing professionals migrating abroad, balancing educational investments with workforce sustainability
