The Aga Khan University (AKU) has partnered with the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) - an internationally renowned Centre for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research in developing and building the stem cell research, training and education program.
The Centre for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research (CRM), is a Centre with state-of-the-art facility undertaking cutting edge research on stem cell and regenerative medicine on non-communicable diseases prevalent in the developing world; nurturing the next generation of researchers and clinicians; and creating a multidisciplinary collaborative environment that encourages innovation.
AKU-CRM is inviting applications from outstanding and ambitious candidates with experience in one or more of these areas including stem cell science, molecular biology and hematology to join research projects investigating the basis of hematological malignancies/disorders using drug development and a wide range of cellular, molecular, biochemical, genomic, and gene editing approaches to develop therapy and investigate ways to overcome drug resistance in hematological malignancies.
Applicants who are currently involved in the broad area of stem cell and molecular biology, listed below, will also be considered:
• Stem cells as drug target
• Gene editing in stem cells
• Hematopoiesis
• Drug evaluation and development
• Gene and molecular therapy
• Animal models
• Nanoparticles
