Aga Khan University-Institute for Educational Development, Pakistan (AKU-IED) has been a 3-decade relationship with the Department of Education (DoE), Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) contributing to improving children’s access to quality education, strengthening governance of education, and facilitating community involvement in schools in Gilgit-Baltistan.
AKU is currently partnering with the DoE GB on the GB Education Fellows (EFs) project which aims to enhance the quality of teachers in the public sector schools in GB. The AKU-led Consortium (including LUMS, KIU and Knowledge Platform) invites applications from suitable candidates to induct them as Professional Development Teachers (PDTs) to be placed in districts as teacher educators to provide ongoing professional support to the Education Fellows, to work closely with the school leadership in achieving the Project goals, and to work as resource persons in the professional development education for the EFs.
The contracts will conclude in less than a year but will be renewable on satisfactory performance of PDTs during the subsequent year. In addition to the salary, the Project will offer excellent professional development opportunity to the PDTs as they will be working with the senior faculty from the partner institutions to design and deliver the professional development sessions for Education Fellows.
