Introduction

The Department of Medicine offers comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services for adults. There are independent sections of Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, Nephrology, Neurology and Pulmonary/Critical Care. The department has over 50 full-time Faculty with a strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate education and research. Residency Programmes are offered in Internal Medicine, Neurology, Adult Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonary Medicine, Nephrology and Dermatology, as well as Fellowship Programmes in Clinical Neurophysiology & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, Diabetes, Endocrinology & Metabolism, Interventional Cardiology and Infectious Diseases.

The Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Assistant / Associate Professor in the Section of Endocrinology, Department of Medicine.

Responsibilities

The appointee will have an independent consultant status and undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, and specified administrative activities.

Requirements

The appointee must have completed a structured postgraduate training programme from a reputable institution and possess FCPS (Endocrinology), MRCP with Certificate of Completion of Specialty training in Endocrinology, American Boards in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism.  

Applicants for Associate Professor should have at least 8 years of teaching / research experience in a HEC recognized University or postgraduate institution, with 5 years’ post-terminal experience of teaching and a minimum of 10 research publications in journals recognized jointly by HEC and PMDC with at least 4 of these publications in the last 5 years. 

Applicants for Assistant Professor should have at least 2 years’ experience as Senior Instructor or equivalent, and should have demonstrated scholarship through research, publications and/or contribution to education.
