Introduction

The Aga Khan University Hospital in addition to its five Hospitals creates access through its Outreach Services which include Clinical Laboratories, Outpatient Medical Centres, Pharmacy services, Home Health and other services. Outreach Services are designed to provide primary to secondary healthcare services to patients near their homes and are present in several cities across Pakistan. Outpatient Medical Centres offer a range of specialty clinics including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Cardiopulmonary, Orthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics and Physiotherapy, and cater to children, adults, and elderly patients for general health checks or specific disease consultations.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to prepare food for hospital patients, employees, students and special occasions, report food safety and other complaints and issues to the concerned.

Specifically, you will be responsible to:   
  • ensure food quality, texture and flavor of patient and non-patient meals as per the set standards
  • cook food and prepare hot entrees, as per the daily menu with standardized recipes or as directed
  • ensure safe usage of equipment and regularly monitor their need for equipment repairs
  • ensure workstations and cooking equipment are clean as per the standards followed
  • clean and maintain hygiene and sanitation of kitchen areas as per the set standards.

Requirements

You should have:
  • preferably Matriculation completed along with certificate / training in cookery from a recognized institution with 
  • at least four years of related work experience in hospital, hotel, airline or restaurant industries
  • knowledge of menus, recipes and preparation terminologies, and quantity cooking techniques and methods
  • knowledge of principles of food safety and sanitation
  • ability to use kitchen utensils and equipment
  • ability to read and write in Urdu and English languages
  • respectful attitude towards supervisor and colleagues
  • ability to effectively work in teams and willingness for shift duties.
