Introduction

GI & Surgery Service Line manages patients with a variety of acute and chronic surgical and medical conditions related to General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Gastroenterology. Comprehensive inpatient and outpatient facilities including general and intensive care are available for surgical and gastrointestinal patients. Moreover, our Endoscopy suite provides diagnostic / therapeutic scopic procedures to both ambulatory and inpatients.

Aga Khan University Hospital invites applications for the position of Nurse Manager in Gastroenterology (GI) & Surgery Service Line. 

Responsibilities

Reporting to Service Line Chief, you will be responsible for the overall management of the GI & Surgery Service Line of the hospital. You will be responsible for the performance of nursing staff, ensuring exemplary patient care by institutional set quality standards.  You are expected to participate in the strategic and resource planning, teaching and training of staff for the Service Line.  With your clinical expertise you are expected to assist unit staff and physicians, for solving problems related to patients’ processes and family issues and ensure compliance as per the guidance provided by Service Line Chief and accrediting authorities.

Requirements

You should have:
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, preferably Masters in Nursing / Health Administration/Hospital Administration from an accredited  university with valid license from Pakistan Nursing Council
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant nursing administrative experience
  • ability to demonstrate clinical competency in specialty
  • sound knowledge of patient care/patient safety standards
  • knowledge of resource management
  • ability to work in teams with others to produce innovative solution
  • positive attitude, good communication skills and ready to accept change.
