Introduction

As an international institution, AKU operates on the core principles of quality, relevance, impact and access.The Office of University Librarian is recruiting an Electronic Health Record, Research Assistant, based in Nairobi, Kenya. The incumbent will be required to provide assistance to the lead researcher, in synthesizing qualitative evidence to address the post implementation of electronic health records.

Responsibilities

•Support the lead researcher in identifying relevant studies from a number of different sources; •Select studies for inclusion and evaluation of their strengths and limitations on the basis of clear, predefined criteria; •Systematically collect and synthesis appropriate data. Interpret and describe the results; •Develop a framework to guide the process of synthesis; •Bring together data from a set of included studies with the aim of drawing conclusions about the post implementation of Electronic Health Record; •Tabulate study characteristics according to the search terminology elements and group the studies for statistical synthesis.

Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in social sciences with at least one to two years of experience; •Experience in database searches and reviewing research articles; •Excellent ability to multitask and delivery of assignment on time; •Excellent communication skills and good knowledge of English, both written and oral; •Demonstrated strong organizational,  prioritization and time management skills; •Demonstrated analytical skills; •Demonstrated skills in use of computer software such as Office and SPSS.
