Introduction

The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) is a not-for-profit healthcare institute that offers all medical services to their patients under one roof. AKUH offers a two-year MCPS traineeship programme at Aga Khan Secondary Hospital at Hyderabad which is recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan and offers an excellent environment with expert faculty supervision. The programme would start from January 01, 2026.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:
  • ensure proper handing and taking over of the patients must be carried out and documented in the system/register
  • carry daily round in early hours in the shifts accompanied by relevant team 
  • give written instructions to nursing staff and share information of admissions, discharges, expired and seriousness of patients to the concerned Consultants
  • maintain night call register and logbook of daily clinical activities which must be signed daily by the Consultant concerned
  • attend CME sessions and Journal Clubs, workshops, conferences and seminars  
  • participate in the grand rounds and deliver presentations at morbidity and mortality meetings on weekly-basis

Requirements

You should have:
  • an MBBS degree with valid PMDC license
  • completed one-year house job including 3 months in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • ability to practice and apply medical knowledge based on scientific evidence
  • good communication skills and ability to effectively work in teams as well as independently
  • ability to handle work pressure and work in shifts
