Responsibilities

As an Assistant, you will be working in the 24/7 Transport Operations on shift basis and will be responsible for assigning duties to the drivers as per the Transport request(s). Maintaining strong coordination with the drivers and other departments and provide seamless transport services. Will be able to manage the Emergency duties. Ensure all the Transport vehicles are up to the mark. Regular inspections of vehicles must be carried out along with the drivers. Part of the job will include generating and regularly maintaining the MIS and performing analysis, streamlining internal controls, and ensuring all policies are adhered to. The incumbent would be expected to focus on providing customer-oriented services, planning, development and implementation of transport policies, processes, KPIs and service delivery standards in coordination with other colleagues and as guided by the department leadership. The successful candidate will report to the Transport Operations Supervisor and/or his nominee.


Responsibilities include but not limited to;

  • Will be working in 24/7 shifts including holidays
  • Assign duties to the drivers as per requisitions received
  • Co-ordinate with respective administrative in-charges of various Departments to assess and meet their transport requirements
  • Manage fuel cards to pool and other Departments. Maintain record of fuel cards/slips issues to various users
  • Regularly check logbooks and ensure that they are complete in all respects
  • Record entries in the logbooks and verify the accuracy of time and mileage covered against the predetermined figures available in the department
  • Monitor the maintenance work required and carried out in vehicles 
  • Implement alternative and innovative ideas for customer satisfaction
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to describe complex ideas in clear and meaningful forms and to present data and information to various audience
  • Coordinate with various departments and vendors
  • Flexible to work in different units of Transport Department and work as a back-up of other staff as and when required

Requirements

  • Intermediate’ or preferably bachelor’s degree
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Minimum one year of experience preferably in the similar role with a large organization
  • Good communication skills
