Introduction

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Research Specialist Microbiology, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a junior researcher to participate in a capacity development project on antimicrobial resistance surviellance run jointly by the Aga Khan University and Fleming Country Grant.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:
  • initiate and coordinate all training related activities
  • manage activities throughout the workshops/trainings and ensure established deadlines are met 
  • manage coordination/administration of research activities including setting up of meetings and liaising with colleagues at different centres within Pakistan
  • look after the logistic coordination and organization of assigned tasks in regards to venues booking, Meals arrangements, faculty travel/ground transportation coordination and events’ material organization
  • lead the travel planning and accommodation booking(if required) for all travelling members
  • coordinate and prepare event materials for all workshops/trainings
  • prepare reports of workshops/trainings after event 
  • maintain an up to date knowledge of all internal department processes.

Requirements

You should have:
  • a Masters in Microbiology with Previous Microbiology Lab experience of 3-5 years
  • previous experience of conducting and organising bench training in microbiology Excellent English writing & communicating skills
  • proficient Computer skills 
  • ability to work independently.
