Introduction

Aga Khan University, chartered in 1983 as Pakistan's first private international university, is committed to the provision of education, research and health care of international standard relevant to Pakistan and the region. The affiliated Aga Khan University Hospital has well-equipped investigative services and provides state-of-the-art clinical facilities.

Aga Khan University-Institute for Educational Development, Pakistan (AKU-IED) has been a 3-decade partner with the Department of Education (DoE), GB contributing to improving children’s access to quality education, strengthening governance of education, and facilitating community involvement in schools in Gilgit-Baltistan. 

AKU is currently partnering with the DoE GB on the GB Education Fellows (EFs) project, i.e. a commitment of GB Govt to at least partly address the dearth of teachers in the public sector schools in GB. The AKU-led Consortium invites applications from suitable candidates to induct them as subject specialists for GB Education Fellows project at PDCN. 

This is a grant-funded contractual position for a period of eleven months.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to: 
  • assist in timely issuance and delivery of all related contracts/letters by using central repository of letter formats
  • provide support in ensuring timely follow-up for the completion of the probationary period performance appraisal forms with the department and confirmation of services of employees
  • support in the preparation of terminal benefits forms, letter of resignation acceptance and contract conclusions
  • ensuring that information for completing the Online Exit Checklist is sent to the relevant department for departing employees
  • ensuring timely reporting and processing of contract extensions, renewals, and conclusions
  • providing effective support in employee separations
  • maintaining records for providing information to Finance
  • providing support in preparing and maintaining compensation related statistics on a regular basis for the assigned departments/divisions
  • ensuring accurate and timely data entry while updating the data in the HRMS
  • maintaining employee files in the most accurate manner.

Requirements

You should have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Finance or equivalent
  • at least 2 to 3 years of proven track record of providing People/HR administrative support to a large, multi-site, multi-disciplined business
  • experience of running HR Processes and working within a HR/confidential environment.
  • proficiency in the usage of Microsoft Applications such as Word, Excel & Outlook
  • problem solving and managing tight deadlines
  • prioritization of own workload in a busy office environment
  • knowledge of the wider organization and how it functions within the external environment.
