Introduction

The Department of Medicine is recognised for the scope and quality of the clinical services it provides, its research activities and excellent scholarly productivity and by the size and success of its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for teaching and training medical students, residents and fellows. It has nine specialities in which faculty with diverse experience is serving the patients, educating students, tranining residents and conducting high quality research.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:
  • work closely with Nephrology and Urology consultants and team
  • receive admitted patients from clinics and emergency room, and perform diagnostic workup 
  • manage patients in special care unit and wards, conduct ward rounds and carry out activities as per consultants’ instructions and round orders regarding patient care
  • display effective and relevant documentation with quality record keeping of clinical notes, progress notes, and discharge summaries as indicated
  • demonstrate effective communication skills to avoid mishaps, delays, and lapse in patient care
  • ensure that patients are given correct post-operative medications and instructions with clear explanation of health care needs
  • perform specific bedside procedures as per the rights assigned
  • provide coverage at various inpatient locations
  • remain updated and follow the care related policies of the institution, along with best practice guidelines including infection control practices
  • assist department in clinical and quality projects.

Requirements

You should have:
an MBBS degree with a valid license from Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC)
completed house job, preferably with two years of experience in Internal Medicine and Allied (ICU, SCU Nephrology, Dialysis)
good interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills
ability to effectively work independently as well as in teams and handle work pressure
willingness to work in shift duties
