The Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Senior Instructor in the Department of School of Nursing and Midwifery.

Responsibilities

The full-time Statistician will provide comprehensive statistical support to the Graduate Office, Research Office, and SONAM faculty, assisting in research and thesis work. The role also involves teaching graduate-level courses alongside other faculty members. Moreover, you will be responsible for:

  • assisting students, and faculty in study design, including formulating research questions and hypotheses
  • performing sample size calculations based on study requirements
  • advising on data collection tools and processes, ensuring data quality and integrity
  • overseeing data management processes
  • conducting data analysis using statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Stata)
  • participating in the dissemination of research findings through publications, conference presentations, and other scholarly activities
  • collaborating closely with faculty members to enhance students' research capabilities
  • participating in teaching graduate-level courses, contributing to the curriculum alongside other faculty members.

Requirements

You should have:

  • master’s degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Statistics, or Data Science
  • at least three years of experience working as a statistician or data scientist
  • has co-authored three to four research papers, with major contributions to data analysis
  • proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Stata) and quantitative methodologies
  • strong research design, data analysis, and data management skills
  • excellent written and verbal communication, especially in report writing and presentations
  • ability to work effectively with students and faculty in an academic environment
  • strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects
  • demonstrated teamwork and leadership abilities, with a commitment to supporting student research.
