The Aga Khan University Department of Hematology - Oncology invites applications for the position of Full-time Faculty, Medical Oncologist.

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be committed to advancing best practice in their discipline, meet the quality and patient safety standards of an internationally accredited university hospital. Successful applicants, besides providing tertiary care clinical services will develop their academic career in teaching and research. In education the focus will remain on resident and medical oncology fellowship training programs and planned introduction of undergraduate training.

The appointee will have an independent consultant status as a Medical Oncologist and shall undertake clinical activities as well as undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and research.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have completed a structured postgraduate training program in Medical Oncology from a reputable organization 
  • Should possess exit board certification such as FCPS, American Boards, CCST (UK) or equivalent in the specialty of Medical Oncology. 
  • Must have independent clinical experience as a Medical Oncologist of at least 2 years post exit qualification
  • Should be registered or eligible for registration with Kenya Medical Practitioners’ & Dentists Board as a specialist. 
  • Should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Have demonstrated ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team. 

Applicants with scholarly contributions to research, teaching and publications are preferred.
