Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:
  • Laise with vendors for MEP products and services and prepare database of products , their certifications and preqaulifications , their rates and undertake new products review alongside Manager of Engineering sections. 
  • Prepare MEP & ICT services BOQ and Engineering Cost Estimates.Provide costing for concept, detailed and IFC packages. 
  • Provide BOQ & cost estimates for EUC’s and various internal work proposals. 
  • Review construction drawings and discuss execution with the engineers. 
  • Provide a constructability review of the design package. 
  • Provide a contractual coverage review of the design package to ensure that items are included. 
  • Ensure long lead items and OFM items procurement in alignment with Purchase Department. Advising on procurement strategy. prepare purchase requisition for all Owners Furnished Material (OFM), inspect other materials delivered at site and also prepare Technical Inspection Reports (TIR)
  • Knowledge of pricing / market rates and establishing rate tables. 
  • Post contract MEP variation evaluation and management;
  • Providing advice on contractual claims; variation orders. 
  • Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use;
  • Client facing and leading commercial meetings on behalf of design department. 
  • Maintenance and update of Approved Sub Contractor/Supplier database.

Requirements

Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:
  • D.A.E. Mechanical (Diploma of Associate Engineer) with experience for Electrical services as well. 
  • Ability to recognize contractual obligations of both company and its subcontractors.
  • Good Experience in AUTO CAD/MS Office would be preferred.
  • 5 to 7 years’ of related work experience in preparing BOQ for MEP services, providing pricing estimates, vendor coordination & preparation of shop drawings.
  • Must have consultant and/or client background;
  • Well verse with project management and constructions executional work.
  • Strong technical understanding of MEP equipment, accessories, installation methods
  • Ability to handle independently
