Introduction

Established in 1983, Medical College (MC), Pakistan offers a five-year Bachelor of Surgery; Bachelor of Medicine (MBBS) programme. The programme prepares students to lead change in their societies and to thrive in a global economy, which is in line with the University’s core principles of quality, relevance, impact and access.

As part of its curriculum, the programmes offer selective and elective opportunities to medical students which are essential components of any undergraduate medical education curriculum offering clinical exposure and experience. Selectives increase a student’s familiarity, experience and abilities in common healthcare settings, develop holistic competence as demonstrated in real practice settings and promote awareness and experience with health equity and health systems issues.
