Objectives:

To enable the participants to:

  • To introduce the participants to the concepts of stem cells, cardiac stem cells  and induced pluripotent stem cells
  • To understand the applications of stem cell biology in translational medicine with particular reference to cardiovascular diseases.

  • Introduction to stem cells and cardiac stem cells
  • Mechanisms of cardiac repair
  • Induced pluripotent stem cells and cardiovascular research  
  • What is translational cardiac stem cell therapy- Historical perspective  and lessons learnt
  • Translational cardiac stem cell therapy- Current status and way forward
  • Panel:  Question and answer session
