Training of trainers to address COVID-19 in Pakistan

This simulation-based series of virtual trainings will build the capacity of healthcare professionals including nurses, midwives and lady health visitors as well as nurse educators and leaders in order to effectively respond to the COVID-19 crisis.

TRAINING DETAILS:

1. COVID-19: Management for Nurse Leaders
Monday & Tuesday | December 14 & 15, 2020

The course will address all aspects of clinical management, including facility preparation and surge planning, healthcare worker infection prevention and control, inter-facility transfer, clinical management of mild, moderate, and severely ill COVID-19 patients.

Eligibility Criteria: 

• Registered nurses
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership role
• Nursing instructors holding a bachelor’s degree and having related work experience can also apply  
• Currently practicing or teaching
• Willing to train other health professionals in their department and share progress with training team 
• Availability of internet and device

2. Infection Prevention and Control (IPC)
Thursday & Friday | December 17 & 18, 2020

This course will help in identifying COVID-19 cases, and ensure that all IPC measures are properly taken care of so that no further transmission to healthcare workers or to other patients occurs.

Eligibility Criteria: 

• Registered nurses, midwives or lady health visitors
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Nursing or midwifery instructors can also apply 
• Currently practising or teaching
• Willing to train other health professionals in their department and share progress with training team 
• Availability of internet and device

3. Critical Care and Management

This module will help participants learn the principles and practice of critical care to manage critically ill COVID-19 patients.

Eligibility Criteria: 

• Registered nurses
• Minimum 2 years of experience in critical care areas
• Nursing instructors holding a bachelor’s degree and having related work experience can also apply 
• Currently practicing or teaching
• Willing to train other health professionals in their department and share progress with training team 
• Availability of internet and device
