In the scientific work, clear and concise writing is the most important means of communication. Publication of new results in scientific journals helps to disseminate information to the larger scientific community. Further, it complements teaching, training, clinical care and public health work and can influence significantly policy and practice in the field of sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR). This online short course on manuscript writing on SRHR will address the steps required in writing original articles based on quantitative and qualitative research with the aim of providing the participant with the necessary tools to prepare, submit and successfully publish a manuscript.

Course Objectives
  • Develop a draft of impactful scientific manuscript by ensuring novelty, global and local relevance and recommendation for policy and practice
  • Apply IMRAD (Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion) format while structuring manuscript
  • Comprehend the guidelines for submitting and publishing scientific manuscripts

Course Prerequisites
The participants should:
  • have a good command on written English
  • be familiar with Microsoft office (word and power point) 
  • have some prior experience of research work
  • submit a title and a 500-word paragraph about the work to be published  
  • have some basic results (written or in tabular form) which they want to use for writing the manuscript. 

Who should attend 
Health workers, researchers, educationists, policymakers, activists and students from Eastern Mediterranean Region who want to publish a manuscript.
