This course is designed for the graduate students to enable them to gain a methodological understanding of how evidence is synthesized both qualitatively and quantitatively. It provides a step-by-step guidance for those interested in conducting qualitative or quantitative reviews. The steps focus on formulating research question, exploring methods for searching the literature, selecting studies, performing quality assessment, conducting data extraction, synthesizing evidence and identifying heterogeneity and interpreting evidence. All the sessions incorporating the various steps would provide the theoretical basis and would include hands-on experience for the students, which would ensure that the students have a grasp on the steps for conducting evidence synthesis.
