Convocation 2016​

The Convocation ceremony in Uganda was held on Saturday, February 6, 2016​ at the Victoria Hall, Serena Hotel, Kampala. Dr Benedict Mtasiwa, Chief Principal Exchange Programmes, Links and Partnerships, Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.​

Dr Mtasiwa, during his speech, urged East African universities to seize ​opportunities for dialogue and cooperation across the region to enable a more integrated East Africa community where students are able to pursue degrees in educational opportunities across borders.

A total of 54 degrees and diplomas were awarded during the ceremony: 23 Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees and 31 Diplomas in General Nursing

In his Welcome Address, AKU president Firoz Rasul encouraged the graduates to volunteer their time, expertise and leadership as members of civil society in order to address critical challenges facing their communities and countries.​​​
