The AKU Mascot​

To highlight its growing student centered approach, AKU has adopted a mascot which students can rally ar​ound in their co-curricular and athletic activitie​s. 

What is a mascot?
A representative person, animal or object adopted by a group as a symbolic figure, especially to generate spirit and ​bring good luck. 




Courage. Agility.
Perseverance.


Introducing The Leopard 

The Leopard was carefully chosen to be representative of the global AKU community and the values it stands for. A leopard is a majestic and graceful creature, with the fearless independent spirit of a leader, and the embodiment of strength and resilience.

Like the AKU Community, the AKU Leopard stand​s for Courage, Agility and Perseverance. Capable of adapting to various environments, it represents strength, independence of thought and action and the determination to overcome obstacles. ​​​

The mascot should not be used to promote administrative units, colleges or other academic programmes.

​Usage Guidelines

The AKU Leopard is the intellectual property of the Aga Khan University. Any unauthorized use will be considered as infringement and promptly dealt with, including through legal action if necessary.

Anyone wishing to use the mascot on merchandise or collateral need to contact the Office of Communications​.
