This year’s symposium will bring together healthcare professionals, policymakers, researchers, educators, patient advocates, and community leaders in a collaborative effort to strengthen safety and quality in maternal, newborn, and pediatric care. Through keynote presentations, expert panel discussions, interactive workshops, and case study sessions, participants will explore practical strategies to:
-
Reduce preventable harm in maternity wards, neonatal units, and pediatric care settings.
-
Strengthen early detection and response systems for high-risk conditions in newborns and children.
-
Promote safer clinical practices through evidence-based protocols, simulation training, and continuous quality improvement.
-
Address systemic gaps in health policy, workforce training, and resource allocation that impact patient safety from birth.
-
Empower families and caregivers with knowledge and tools to advocate for safe, respectful, and quality care.
The symposium will also showcase innovative solutions—from low-cost technologies to integrated care models—that are making a measurable difference in outcomes for mothers and children.
By uniting diverse voices and expertise, we aim to build a stronger culture of safety across all levels of healthcare, ensuring that every newborn and child receives care that is not only effective but also free from avoidable harm—right from their very first breath.
